Client: Oxford University Press (University Project) Role: Book Cover Designer · Series Concept & Visual Identity Some books don’t shout for attention; they ask questions. The Very Short Introductions series is made to be held, read, revisited. It’s academic but accessible, compact but expansive. My challenge was to design a series that respected that balance and intelligence without feeling dry, bold without losing subtlety. The concept took shape through the idea of thought in motion, each cover visually echoing the process of discovery, reflection, and layered understanding. Rather than illustrating topics literally, I approached each title as a visual metaphor. Type, texture, and image all served the tone of the content, not just its subject. Designing for this series felt like entering a conversation already in progress. My role was to design a voice that felt considered, quietly confident, curious, and open to interpretation.
